Try out a broad range of engagement opportunities to help you further explore your interests in healthcare, and to develop skills necessary to succeed in this field.

Here are some suggestions to get started:

  • Volunteer at a local hospital or clinical setting
  • Shadow professionals who are working in the areas you are interested in
  • Join a student group - most health professions have a related student group on campus, and there are many others that have a broader health focus. Browse the "Health and Wellness" category in the directory for ideas.
  • Get involved in undergraduate research at the U of M.

The U of M's Health Careers Center also has a fantastic list of resources to help you build your portfolio to become a competitive applicant to professional health programs.
