How and why did you choose your major?

When I was in CLA, I planned to choose the major that is related to business. Economics is one of the options. Economics has a lot of models and will be really useful in a career. Economics is one of the topic majors that investment banks recruit for. Now that I've been admitted to CSOM, I also intend to major in finance, I love finance and I started to learn stock market few years ago.

Please give a description (in your words) of your major including the things you learn, favorite classes, and any challenges you have faced.

For Economics, it is very challenging to memorize these models. Economics class is sometimes a little boring because you need to face so many terms and formulae. My favorite class is ECON 3101,Which is very fundamental to future major classes.

What types of experiences outside of the classroom have you had relating to your major? (i.e. clubs, jobs, internships, volunteering, study abroad etc.)

I'm an Officer of the Asian Business and Economics Student Association. It is a organization for Business and Economics students to build relationships and get advice for career path.

In your opinion, what is one thing, or one piece of advice that other students pursuing your major should know?

For Economics, students must first declare their major and then take the ECON 3XXX and upper classes. Also, students can only repeat the class in summer.
